The Route
We will shuttle you from Rock Farm to the get on point at Stackallen (approx. 10 minutes away). With the help of your guide, you will paddle downstream, navigating over six weirs and numerous rapids, through the beautiful Boyne Valley, steeped in history and emersed in nature. You will finish at Slane Bridge, shortly after passing by the breathtaking backdrop of the infamous Slane Castle, one of the most picturesque and historic buildings in Ireland.
What you'll see

The River Boyne has a rich historical, archaeological, and mythical heritage, and our river guides will be happy to share some of its legends with you throughout your trip. There is an abundance of flora, fauna, and local wildlife to be seen along the route. Herons, kingfishers, mallards, swallows, otters, and all types of fish are regularly spotted from onboard our rafts.

Our raft guides are all IRF (International Raft Federation) qualified and have countless hours of experience working on the river. Between this and our passion for sharing our love of the river our guests are in safe hands.

We use the very best of gear from Aqua Design and Palm Equipment to ensure complete comfort and safety for everybody who joins us on the water. Our Rafts are custom made with the River Liffey in mind. Stable, Sturdy and super comfy. Our Wetsuits, Cags, Buoyancy Aids and Helmets help to keep you safe and warm throughout the trip.
Age restrictions

The minimum age for active participants is 11 years old. Active participants are considered to be those who are strong enough to help propel the raft down the river. Younger kids can take part in our trips as non-paddling participants. Please get in touch for further details.

What should I bring?

We have everything you need to get on the water in comfort and safety. All you need is swimwear for under your wetsuit, old runners you don’t mind getting wet and a towel to dry off afterwards. You are very welcome to wear your own wetsuit if you prefer.

We provide all of the necessary equipment and have full changing facilities, and on-site parking at Rock Farm Slane, Co. Meath.
