What should I expect when I arrive at the Canoe Centre?

We take care of you from the moment you arrive. We’ll check you in and confirm that a waiver form has been completed for each participant. Then, we’ll kit you out with all the gear you need to safely enjoy your experience.

We kindly ask that you arrive at your booked time, as we operate to a schedule. We may not be able to accommodate late arrivals and will not be in a position to offer refunds for missed bookings.

Please note: Rafting.ie reserves the right to refuse participation in activities if deemed necessary. This includes situations where participants do not comply with safety rules and advice, or are suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

Is there a minimum age to take part?

For the Explore Rafting and Multi-Adventure Activities, the minimum age is 8.
For the Adventure Camp and Classic Rafting Experience, the minimum age is 11.

What do I need to bring with me?

We have everything you will need. All equipment is provided for our rafting trips, including wetsuits, helmets, and PFDs. All you need to bring is a towel, something to wear underneath a wetsuit, and shoes that you won’t mind getting wet. We suggest an old pair of runners. Please note: we do not allow open-toe shoes.

Do I need to be able to swim?

You don’t need to be able to swim to go rafting, but being comfortable in the water will help you enjoy your trip.

Will I get wet?

Your feet will definitely get wet. After that, the only reason you’ll get wet is if you choose to jump into the water — or if there’s a mutiny on the ship!

Do I need to have experience?

Not at all — rafting is a very inclusive activity that everyone can take part in. It is a physical activity, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. All our rafts are accompanied by a guide.

What is the river flow like?

The River Liffey is a dam-controlled river, which means water levels can fluctuate based on dam releases and weather conditions.

In summer, flow rates are generally low, making for cruisy, comfortable rafting trips. In winter, flow rates are much higher — perfect conditions for adrenaline-inducing white water adventures.

Do you have changing facilities?

Yes, we have changing rooms and showers available at the Canoe Centre.

How do I secure my valuables?

Please note that Rafting.ie is not responsible for any lost or damaged items, and our team cannot handle personal belongings. However, we do offer complimentary lockers for you to securely store your valuables.

How do I book?

You can book and pay through our website up to 48 hours before your activity date. For bookings within 48 hours, please contact our office on 01 524 0691 or email info@rafting.ie.

We use a secure booking portal, and our consent form is completed online to help reduce our impact on the environment.

What if I need to cancel or rescheule?

Booking Cancellations

For any cancellations received up to 5 working days prior to your trip, we can offer a full refund or reschedule to a later date.
Cancellations received within 5 working days of your trip are not eligible for refunds or date amendments, as rafts have been allocated and staff rostered.

Group Bookings (4 or more rafts) & Multi Adventure Activity

For bookings with 4 or more rafts or the Multi Adventure activity, cancellations received within 10 business days prior to arrival are subject to a 100% cancellation charge.
All cancellations or amendments must be received in writing by emailing info@rafting.ie.

Booking Cancellations for Camps

Cancellations received up to 1 calendar month prior to the start date are eligible for a full refund.
Any cancellations received after this time are subject to a 100% cancellation charge.

Please understand that trips are subject to rescheduling or cancellation due to high water levels, but we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible in advance.

Please note: Rafting.ie reserves the right to refuse a participant to take part in activities should it deem necessary to do so. This includes participants not complying with safety rules and advice, or those deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
No refunds will be given under these circumstances.
