The Route

The Classic route takes you from Lucan Village to Palmerstown through the Strawberry Beds. This is one of the most popular sections of the river with outdoor enthusiasts. Along the way you will navigate 4 weirs and numerous rapids as you wind your way through the pristine Liffey Valley. The route is approximately 8km long.

What you'll see

There is an abundance of flora, fauna and local wildlife to be seen along the route. Herons, Kingfishers, Swans, dragonflies, Otters and all types of fish are regularly spotted from onboard our rafts. It’s not all wildlife however, the Liffey Valley is steeped in history. During your trip you will come across Shackleton’s Mills, The Hermitage Estate, Kings Hospital and the Silver Bridge.
